MPI-SP faculty member Marcel Böhme was named an ACM Distinguished Member “for contributions to software security and fuzz testing.” The distinction is given to ACM members who have achieved a significant accomplishment or made a significant impact in the field of computing, computer science, or information technology. The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is a volunteer-driven organization of computing educators, researchers, and professionals from around the Globe.
Marcel Böhme is a faculty member at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP), where he leads the Software Security research group. His group has made foundational contributions to automatic software testing, specifically fuzzing, which has become one of the most successful techniques for automatic vulnerability discovery at scale.
