The heads of Bochum's universities and research institutions and other stakeholders met with Mayor Thomas Eiskirch in the historic town hall to jointly found the UniverCity Bochum e.V. association.

UniverCity Bochum e.V. brings together universities, research institutions, and other stakeholders from Bochum aiming to develop Bochum into a city of knowledge. To achieve this goal, UniverCity Bochum e.V.  facilitates encounters, exchange, and cooperation between scientists, the municipality, businesses, and Bochum’s urban society.

As a member institution, MPI-SP will be involved in developing and implementing dialog-oriented and interactive project formats. “The aim of this association perfectly aligns with our pledge to communicate our science effectively to a wide audience “, said Axel Degenhardt, the Head of Administration for MPI-SP. “UniverCity Bochum e.V. provides an excellent opportunity for our researchers to engage directly with the community, enabling us to showcase the impact and importance of our research to the public. We are looking forward to exchanging ideas with our partners and developing many successful projects together”.
