The Max Planck Institute for Secuity and Privacy (MPI-SP) offers a vibrant, dynamic and multi-cultural environment for research and education. MPI-SP offers an internationally renowned research community, providing a broad presence and depth in many different areas related to security and privacy. Surrounded by the Ruhr University Bochum, the Horst Görtz Institute for IT-Security, the cluster of excellence CASA and a vivid startup culture, the MPI-SP positions itself in the center of the European research community focused on security and privacy. Our Offer

The Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy offers positions for student assistants, research internships and thesis workers spanning a wide range of security and privacy related topics. Students are enabled to work in collaboration with world-leading researchers and set the foundations for a successful career in academics.

Requirements

Applicants must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program at a top-tier institution. Furthermore, you should have an oustanding academic record that is broadly relevant to the field of security and privacy. Proficiency in spoken and written English is expected, as well as strong letters of recommendation from your past academic advisers or work supervisors.

If you have a specific research interest, you may optionally indicate faculty members you would like to work with in your application.

Life in Germany

The booklet Living and Working in Germany from the Max Planck Society has most of the important information regarding visas, health insurance and medical care, finding and renting an apartment and public transportation. It also includes useful checklists for what you need to bring and what you will need to take care of initially. For interns who stay for less than three months not all of these may apply.
