The Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy in Bochum is a research institute of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V. (MPG), which conducts interdisciplinary research into the many aspects of IT security and data protection. The newly formed and expanding institute will eventually include 18 research groups and employ approximately 200 staff and guests. The institute cooperates with the Faculty of Computer Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Bochum is one of the world's leading research locations for cybersecurity and home to Europe's largest educational institution in this field as well as a lively start-up scene.

In the PR and Communications Department, we are now looking for a Student assistant (m/f/d) to support our team in various tasks related to social media production, website content management, and event planning. Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in public relations? Then, you've come to the right place!

Requirements

• You are enrolled at a German university or college.
• You have experience with or a strong interest in social media platforms and content creation.
• You have experience with or a strong interest in organizing events.
• You are fluent in German and have a good command of written and spoken English (B2 level or higher).
• You are self-motivated, organized, and diligent.
• You can regularly come to work on-site at our office at the Ruhr University Campus in Bochum. Due to the nature of the role, a fully remote option is currently not available.
• Not required but a plus:
  1. experience with scheduling and posting content on various social media platforms, or
  2. experience with promoting events via email and social media, or
  3. experience in editing or taking photographs/videos using professional equipment.

The positions are to be filled as soon as possible on an hourly basis with a weekly working time of 12-20 hours. The standard contract period is 6 months with an opportunity to renew the contract every semester.
